As we enter spring it’s never been a better time to amp up your smoothie game. As the weather warms, some of the most colorful and delicious fruits come into season. Take advantage of the low prices and variety of local produce. Bananas, melons, berries, and peaches all make great smoothie options, but they’re often loaded with sugar. Take a leaf out of the avocado craze that’s hit the world in recent years and turn it into a smoothie!
Avocados have skyrocketed to popularity in recent years because of how packed with nutrition they are! Not only high in healthy fats and loaded with fiber, avocados also have a long list of vitamins and minerals packed inside of them – Vitamin K, C, B6, and Potassium just to name a few.
Avocados are super easy to incorporate into your diet. Whether it be avo’ on toast, in your salad, or this Avocado Smoothie, it’s one of the healthiest foods you can add to your diet. Start with this smoothie and let us know how you go!
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tsp Natvia Natural Sweetener
- 1 cup macadamia milk
- Zest and juice from half a lime
- Handful of ice
- Place ice into blender first. Scoop out flesh of avocado into the blender and add sweetener, macadamia milk and the zest and juice from half the lime.
- Blend until silky smooth. Portion into two glasses and top with a little extra lime zest.
